Lew E. Lefton is a faculty member in the Georgia Tech School of Mathematics and also serves as the Director of Information Technology for the College of Sciences. After completing his PhD, Lefton spent two years at the University of California at Riverside, and then he took a position in the mathematics department at the University of New Orleans. In 1999, he moved to Georgia Tech. Lefton's research interests include scientific computing and applied mathematics. He has authored many journal articles, and he co-authored the textbook Introduction to Parallel and Vector Scientific Computing. Lefton is also an accomplished and experienced comedian who has done stand up and improv comedy for more than 25 years. Lefton's comedy career has taken him around the country where he has performed at dozens of clubs, colleges, and concerts. He also works on research that studies the use of humor and improvisation as a means to enhance technical innovation and improve creativity.
